January 20, 2009 - The BNA-Photo crew came together this afternoon to get as many photographers to the airport as possible to snag this temporary Southwest livery. One call from someone working at the airport (that isn't even in our group) enabled us to spread the word to all local members within a few minutes. Within 30 minutes there were five photographers ready to capture this aircraft from the terminal to the end of the departure runway. We are currently developing a system that will send out automated text messages to other local photographers about happenings at local airports. Initially, the system will allow any member with information about an interesting arrival or departure to send aircraft registration number(s), flight number(s), departure or arrival runway(s) and ETA info to other group members with ease. Eventually, the system will incorporate mobile phone GPS location information allowing members to see on their phones where other members are currently located in relation to our local airports. The initial testing of the GPS mapping application began last week and is going well so far.
